On the 10th October 2021, the Royal House of Kamakahelei entered into a formal Friendship Agreement with His Majesty PYM H. Nulzuludin Syah Mudafarsyah Ssos. M. M, The Sultan of Ternate XXXXIX.

The friendship agreement endorses cooperation and mutual recognition between the two Royal Houses.

The Ternate kingdom was established in 1257 by Momole Cico who was the first leader of Ternate, with the title Baab Mashur Malamo. It reached its Golden Age during the reign of Sultan Baabullah (1570–1583) and encompassed most of the eastern part of Indonesia and a part of southern Philippines.

Originally known as the Kingdom of Gapi, the Kingdom became a Sultanate in the late 15th century and is thus one of the oldest Kingdoms in Indonesia.
