Their Royal Highnesses continued the tour of Gettysburg visiting the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitors Centre as well as the Gettysburg Foundation.

the monument to the 42nd New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment

A tribute was paid to Chief Tammany and the ‘Tammany Regiment’ at the monument to the 42nd New York Volunteer Infantry Regiment.

The monument is a bronze statue of the Delaware Indigenous American Chief Tammany. Chief Tammany was a friend to European colonists in the early days of America and became the symbol for the powerful New York City political hall that raised the regiment.

Their Highnesses met with the superintendent of Gettysburg National Military Park and Eisenhower National Historic Site, Steven Sims.

They also witness a naturalization ceremony for several new US citizens and listened to an address by Actor Stephen Lang who played Maj. Gen. George E. Pickett in Gettysburg film (1993). Mr Lang gave a dramatic reading of the Gettysburg address.
