The 20th year remembrance ceremony of the 9/11 terrorist attack on the USA
Their Highness being received by a Sister of the ‘Sisters of Charity’ at the National Shrine of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton in Emmitsburg, Maryland, USA

Their Royal Highnesses visited the National Shrine of St. Elizabeth Anne Seton, to pay their respects. St. Elizabeth was the first American ever to be canonized by the Roman Catholic church. She founded the Sisters of Charity religious order, the first sisterhood endemic to the United States and established the first Catholic girls school in Maryland.

They also visited the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Park located at the US Department of Homeland Security National Emergency Training Center. They paid their respects to all that served, especially remembering Eric Tetsu Hayashi of the Hawaiian Fire Department in Hilo, Hawaii. He died in the line of duty on August 8, 2020.

Before leaving Washington DC, their Royal Highnesses visited the Eastern High School NAF Academy of Health Sciences. The students are in a career academy to explore and prepare for a future in the healthcare workforce.

Their Highnesses relaxed with the students candidly offering some guidance from their own life’s experiences.

Prince Darrick stressed the importance of finding their passion, and to keep getting up, no matter how many times they stumble. Princess Anna additionally stressed the importance of being willing to work hard at whatever the task, and that true nobility was not about privilege or honor, but having a sincere desire to be of service, to “talk the talk, and walk the walk…”

Their Highness with Teacher Julius Jackson, the Chamberlain of the House of Kamakahelei and the students of the Eastern High School NAF Academy of Health Sciences.
